Windows 2000 pro, can someone tell me where these things are.

I just got it today and did a clean install in my new ibm 34gxp 20.5 gig hdd. I have looked around a while now and cannot find a few things that are in a different place. Scandisk,how to set a perm swap file,how to put my favorites(web pages)into the start menu,how to set DMA on my drives. I am also using the promise ultra66 controller so it is probably already dma on my hardrive but what about my cdrom.And I cant get DX7a to install, do I not need it?Thanks for any help.

right click on my computer, click on advanced, then performance options. Under virtual memory tada!

how to set DMA on my drives.
it will be automatically turned on if your drives will acept it (I think)

I think DX7 is already installed.

W2K installs DX7 on defualt, try Start>run>dxdiag>ok

I was wondering about the DX7a actually, it is an update dor DX7 and it fixes a few things, at least it was needed in win 98se. Do you guys know how to put my favorites(web pages)into the start menu like win 98 had.Thanks

thanks, didn't see the little boxes at bottom, I was trying to add it and search drive for favorites.That was much easier just clicking a little box
