Ok, I am getting this drive: http://www.hitechcafe.com/eshop/product.asp?dept%5Fid=7&sku=ST410800N

and I have this card: http://www.mylex.com/products/dac960/datasheet/dacpj_pg.html

What kind of cables/adapters do I need to make them play nice?

Well with that being a Raid Card are you going to be getting 2 of those drives? Well anyways all you will need is a 50pin ribbon cable http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif and you will be off to the races as from what I could see about that card is that it has both the 50 pin connector as well as the 68pin connector for when you get faster drives.

I have the cheap version, only a 68 pin connector, what do I need then?

Well you will need either a cable that has 68pin connectors and a 68 to 50 pin adapter (the best way) or a 50 pin cable and a 50 to 68 pin adapter board. The cables and adapters should be avaliable from Hi-tech as well http://www.hitechcafe.com/eshop/product.asp?dept%5Fid=1&sku=68TO50

I agree with Mntsnow,.... However my .02 cents would be that you are limiting the speed / throughput of a highspeed scsi card with a disk drive that has comparatively old technology. Unless you REALLY need the redundancy why not save a little longer and pick up a current technology scsi disk drive?

edit... When you hook up the disk drive you should disable wide negotiation unless you take my advice to get a drive that has 68 pins. If you are going to use a 50 to 68 pin converter plug then I THINK that you will need to get one that has termination on the high order bits as you don't have a 68 pin device. The 50 pin drive will terminate the low order bits but the high order ones will be left un terminated without the proper adaptor.
