I want to put Linux on my 386, and I need to have it on a 3.5 in. floppy. Does anyone know where I can download it?

It is going to take an awful lot of floppies ( 417 of them) I would spring for a cdrom drive. Also your 386 won't run mandrake so look for another distro, probably redhat. www.redhat.com (http://www.redhat.com)

I believe you mean LOAF? Linux On A Floppy

I used know where to download it, but I've forgotten. Do a search in Yahoo! for LOAF and see what comes up! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Don't forget other options:
- Put Linux on another hard drive and temporarily install it in the machine.
- Temporarily put a CD-ROM in the machine.
- Network it to get the files there.

The Slackware distribution used to come in floppy sized chunks, I haven't used it in a while though, moved to RedHat.

The thing is, I can't seem to get the computer to work. To help me, please go to the Troubleshooting post, and the Hard Drive error. no wait, here's the link:
