Hi

If you have "uninstalled" your old pgms by deleting the folders where they were installed, that's the reason why they are still listed in the Add/Remove list.
The entries for these particular pgms are still in the registry and Windows still thinks that they are installed on your machine.

And when you try to remove them, Windows do not find any files to remove...

If you are confident and familiar enough with the registry, you can explore it and modify it. But, if you mess with it, your PC might become unusable... Do it at your own risk.

TweakUI will zap these little suckers for you. TU can be found on your win98 cd.

Some progs don't clear this box even if you uninstall them properly.

Run regedit and delete the appropriate key from:

hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\curr entversion\uninstall\.....

That's the list you see in add/remove progs.

TweakUI takes the names off the list, you can still hack your registry if you want to though. I do. It's fun http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
