OK, I installed Win2K clean today with the FAT32 file system.
It seems to freeze up at times on me, not a permanent freeze, just temporary ones. Also my hard drive light is continually on.
I have Pentium III 450, 128MB PC100 RAM, @ Hard drives, IBM Deckstar 15GB, master, and WD Caviar 6.4GB, slave. I also have Smart & Friendly CD Racer as master and Creative 52X CD ROM as slave.
ATI Pro Rage 8MB AGP video, and Sound Blaster PCI128 sound.
Any help would be great,
Mike

Alright I'll respond to myself then.
I f-disked and re-installed win2k with NTFS this time and NO FREEZES, and seems alot peppier. However, my hard drive indicator light is still continually on, even when no disk activity is heard.
Any responses to this one?

Go to the device manager, click on computer, and see if it says ACPI PC. If not, could be the problem. There is a possible fix discussed at http://anandforums.gisystech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=34&threadid=124290

I was so ticked by the hard drive light problem, I f-disked and re-installed Win98.
I guess I'll wait until the 63,000 bugs are fixed by Gates & Co.
Mike
I've had fewer problems with the beta than you guys are having with the final heheyheh...
mnx
Going to install the final ver tomorrow or the next day whenever the download finishes <g>...

I had none of those probs, but have another one.
My com port 3 is Yellow exclamationed, and only in Win2k.
In win2k it lists com 1-4 and 3 is "device cannot be started"
In win98SE, I had com 1-3 and they all worked.
Also for some odd reason (probably as a result of 3 not working) My modem has been bumped from its default Com3 to Com 4
Doesnt really effect anything, I just dont like having a fat '!' in my device properties.
