Does anyone know where I can find a missing DLL file(MFC42.DLL)? I can't access my registry because I seem to be missing it.

Judi, You have Mail http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif The MFC42.DLL file belongs in the C:/Windows/System Folder. After you have placed it there you will need to restart your machine so windows can find and access that file http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Beaware the MFC42 file is fairly large. You can also find many DLL files at http://solo.abac.com/dllarchive/

In addition to what MntSnow suggests you can try to register the *.dll with the program called Regsvr32.exe. Search your computer for this file, and place a shortcut to it on your desktop if you find it. Now try to drag and drop the *.dll to the shortcut and see if it registers OK (If so you'll get a message such as: "DLLRegisterServer in c:\windows\system\MFC42.DLL succeeded"). If the register was successful you might not have to reboot to make it work.
