Hi All, I've tried to find drivers to upgade from 98 to 2000 but unable to find them yet for my Intel 82371AB/EB Bus Master IDE Controller and my SB 64 Gold sound card, other than that I just have a few software issues to resolve.
I also made the mistake of going ahead with the install before updating my drivers,BIG NO<NO<NO, as I had to format HD to remove Win 2000 O/S because there is no uninstall.
I've built a new system for the wife,K6-2 500 and Win 2000 installed easily on it,and I like what I see.
I'm Glad that it installed properly on her PC or else I'd be typing now with my fingers in casts. She gets touchy with her bussiness Applications. on her PC.
By the way Microsoft recommends 128megs for this O/S.

With the hardware you listed above, you shouldn't replace the drivers W2K has built in. It already has the best bussmaster controller drivers made, and CL has not released a custom driver for any sound cards for W2K yet, but it has built in drivers for all SB cards made, up to the Live.

I would just remove those devices from device manager in Win9x and install W2K. When it is done, W2K will put it's own drivers in without worrying about migrating win9x files.

I think where most people make mistakes is in thinking they have to use Win9x drivers in an upgrade scenerio...when a fresh install is teh best way to go and usually presents no driver issues at all.
