WTP I agree with you... but I think that the response from our DEDICATED members like yourself and akaBruno and all of the others should be to ignore the thread and the poster.
By replying to the post we are encouraging the poster to post more inflammatory statements. When that happens then socalgal or Scott has to get involved and then another user gets banned.
There is no need to let things go to that degree.... if we all agree to ignore the poster then he/she will
1)go away or
2) learn what the board is about and post responsibly.

Remember these people are deliberately trying to "ruffle your feathers" and if you respond then their attempt has been successful. It Does Not Matter What You Say when you respond... if you respond at all then they feel successful.

Just my .02 cents...

I know better than to argue w/ these people. And sometimes combating it w/ plain old common sense doesn't work either. But, ignoring it is easier said than done. I know that for sure, because I've tried. I should have taken my own advice. But, we shouldn't just sit on our thumbs and leave it all up to the administration either.

It's like when the alarm goes off? Remain calm...

I agree with SDT.

Please do not respond to these posts.

I'll second SDT's statement.
Do not respond. Period.
With the number of posts that come in here in a day, if no one responds than the offending post will be buried under the useful posts that much quicker.

Thats the right attitude, just be sure to email the Moderator/Admin with a link of the post so it will get purged eventually.

The best solution to these things is to email socalgal@sysopt.com and CC sdw@sysopt.com and joel@sysopt.com.
