I want it alot faster..............any tips or reg settings guys? jadison 06-01-2000, 11:40 PM Just a few Q's: 1)What mouse are u using? 2)Have you tried cleaning the trackball, sometimes that might help. 3)What resolution is your desktop at? Sometimes if it's real high, mouse movement is not as fast. -=jd=- Meat Puppet 06-01-2000, 11:46 PM Ha ha ha very funny http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif try getting more ram and grease your screen with slick 50 that might help http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif..lol bigslammer 06-01-2000, 11:56 PM try turning acceleration up to high. also mouseware 9 for logitech will help you out. OuTpaTienT 06-01-2000, 11:56 PM What kind of mouse? drivers? On my Logitech there's plenty of headroom. I have the mouse speed turned all the way up but the acceleration turned completely off. MadMatt 06-02-2000, 07:12 AM My pointer is also not fast enough - it's quick but not quite quick enough. I have a MS Intellimouse Explorer and am using IntelliPoint 3.1a software. Also, I have pointer accelleration set to off. Any ideas? Just scroll down to the PS/2 Sampling Rates, and you'll find it. http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/tweaking.shtml Bruno cyclone2 06-02-2000, 08:21 AM Download intellipoint drivers here http://www.microsoft.com/products/hardware/mouse/driver/drivers_pc31a.htm they work with my logitech and my kids Buzz Lightyear mouse and my Explorer mouse. After installing open it up go to pointers and move up your speed then click on advanced and set fast and any mouse you run will fly! Warthog 06-03-2000, 12:18 AM MadMatt, you have the same mouse I do and it's not fast enough? I have it set on the fourth notch from the right and I think it's pretty fast. When at the fastest (farthest to right) you can move it across my screen (800x600) in about half an inch. Why would you want it faster than that??? Wait!! I just looked at my mouse stats and I have pointer acc. on and set to medium. I tried it without it and it is MUCH slower. Now I understand. So just put pointer acc. on and you're all set! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif Warthog oblivion 06-03-2000, 03:32 PM I have a few different mice hooked up,and no it is not my refresh rate I want to speed up..........I have acceleration off,and the actual speed of the cursor all the way up,and it is still not fast enough,I want to be able to move across the whole screen with a tiny flick of the wrist. any tips? OuTpaTienT 06-03-2000, 04:12 PM oblivion, the only thing I can think of is to use the acceleration. I don't like it either, and I always disable the acceleration and put the cursor speed to max. But if that's not fast enough for ya, I don't know what else you can do. I would assume the cursor movement is largely determined by the drivers...so if it's a generic mouse try various other drivers or if it needs specific drivers then try to find some older versions of those drivers. Other than trying those ideas, I'm stumped. Warthog 06-03-2000, 05:53 PM ummmmmm....do acceleration just like I said... that will increase the cursor speed... Warthog pickel 06-03-2000, 06:51 PM The first thing I purchase for my computers is a NEW mouse, a scrolling mouse. I have a Kensington and the others have a Logitech. All three were purchased on sale for about $15.00 each. Mine is set and half speed and really moves out, has a nice long tail, very easy to live with .Try one of these. I'll think you'll like it http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif the pickel Algee7 06-03-2000, 08:22 PM I use a cheap 3 button/dual wheel mouse... Have it set so it moves about 1.25 inches to travel from one end of the screen to the other horizontally and 1 inch vertically http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif oblivion 06-03-2000, 11:11 PM Warthog, where do I set acceleration??????? It does not appear to be in the mouse control panal applet. Meat Puppet 06-03-2000, 11:16 PM Am I the only one here that assumes that a wink means that one is fooling around. If your serious sorry for the previous post... Warthog 06-04-2000, 10:01 AM 1. Either go to Control Panel and click "Mouse" or click the mouse icon on the system tray. 2. Click the tab, "Pointer Options" 3. At the top you will see the slow/fast speed settings, correct? Now click "Advanced". Check "Pointer Acceleration" and the "Medium" setting (that's what I have). 4. All set! *This is assuming you have the Intellimouse Explorer like you said* Warthog oblivion 06-04-2000, 10:35 AM I had an explorer.......but I traded it a week ago...............did I say I had one in this thread?? jad1097 06-04-2000, 10:54 AM No, but I think it may help if you said exactly what mouse you are using. You did say "I have a few different mice hooked up." Are all these mice hooked up at the same time? Or do you just use them at different times? Do you have the drivers for each one? oblivion 06-04-2000, 11:21 AM I have an intellimouse(non eye) a logitech gaming mouse, and a logitech first mouse, all hooked up at once............I do not need to use any other drivers save the default windows drivers. jad1097 06-04-2000, 11:32 AM If you install the Logitech drivers you will have the option for acceleration. As bigslammer said try mouseware 9. I don't know if this would work with all the mice you have installed though. It's worth a try anyway, isn't it? Warthog 06-04-2000, 05:38 PM Ok. Sorry. I got confused with madmatt http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif. Warthog rtyp3 06-04-2000, 05:42 PM Try putting a cat in the cage with it. That normally helps. Dave_H 06-04-2000, 05:53 PM I'm with Jad, try the mouseware 9.x http://www.logitech.com/cf/support/mousefiles_pc.cfm I'm not sure about the Microsoft mouse you got, but I have used this on non-logitech mice before and it has worked fine. Actually this system has a Logitech tractball and a generic mouse. After you install it and re-boot, it will detect your mice one at a time and let you set them up, so you could set each one at a different speed. Hope it works for you. Dave SysOpt.com
