The problem is that files keep disappearing. So, I need to find a way to track everything people are doing on one computer. I don't like doing this but someone is deleting things either by accident or on purpose, and it's taking a lot of time to keep figuring out the problem and then fixing it.
Anyway, I was reading about Red Hand Pro 5. Does anyone have any experience with this software? Will it let me know everything that's being done on the computer like deleting files? It's kind of expensive. Does anyone know of any other software that will let me track computer activity?
Like i said, I don't like doing this, but something has to be done. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif

I'm sure you've already thought of this but, have you updated and run your virus scan latley? just to be safe you might want to check it again. Other than that, I have that "Go Back" program and it logs every change, activation or deletion of any file on your hard drive so that you can go back in time to when things were ok. I believe it is inexpensive although it eats some processor power and I had to devote 10GB of storage to it in order to be able to go back in time over a week. ( 5GB for each hard drive )
hope this helps you

I have the "Gateway Go Back" version which I believe is the exact same thing as "Go Back" that I have seen in a magazine. You could check it out at the Gateway website or I have a phone # only here for the non Gateway version: 888-763-9273 in the US.
I have tried to find a website listed in the program to no avail. Just be sure to check out whether or not this will solve your problem, IMHO it is a life saver for recovering deleted files or recovering from a virus attack by reverting a file or your entire hard drive back to a point in time when things were the way that you want them. But also when you decide to select when to go back, it will list every event in your history as far as you want.(given that you allot enough hard drive space)
it should be in the $40-$60 range I think
Hope you find what your looking for http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Do you have any idea whether its someone locally, or a remote source is doing this? Do you have broadband internet access? If the latter is true, then you may have an intruder using a "trojan horse" program to infiltrate and control your computer. If this is so, update your virus scanner, and download a free firewall, Zone Alarm, which will tell you what programs are trying to connect to the internet. There is also some software (shareware) that will clean your system of any trojans, however i don't remember the name at the moment

Winguardian is a good program for tracking what programs are run on a computer. It will also track key presses which can come in handy.

I have used Go-Back and it is good and does the job but it wont get to the root of the problem and find whatever or whoever is doing it so I would go for one of those proggies that monitor all the keyboard activity or similiar as prevention is better than cure. Good luck and I hope you get it sorted http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif.
