does anyone think that it would be worthwhile to add a progarmming forum to this website? I've visited a lot of other programming forums, and i've found that none of the other people are as friendly or as helpful as they are here... i think that it would be a good idea
anyone else??

It's possible, but as you might know, EarthWeb also owns CodeGuru.com (http://www.codeguru.com). They have some fantastic programming forums and way more members than we have here. It's worth checking out. If you don't see a forum topic there that you'd like us to add, perhaps with a hardware twist/aspect, lemme know.

actually, CodeGuru is the forum specifically that I'm talking about when i say that the people aren't terribly helpful. Now, honestly, I've really only spent time in the java forum because that's what my questions are about, but in the 4or5 times that I've posted there, i haven't gotten a single response. I find it difficult to believe that no one knows what the answers to my questions, so I have to wonder why it's like that.
In the end, I feel that the members of this board are a very resourseful group and for the most part quite knowledgeable about a large majority of topics, but most importantly, they are more than willing to help out someone with a question. That alone is the reason why i have been so unimpressed with the greater majority of the other msg. boards out there. I think that most of the members of codeGuru are taking advantage of the ability to look at the free code, but they aren't so much interested in the forum portion of the site (hence the large membership count).
Anyway, I've been seeing more posts about programming in the last couple of months than I've seen here in the last year or so that i've been a member, and I was wondering if there were enough other members of this board who felt the same as I.
thanks,
Z
