I believe it has to do with communications.

Win98? Take a look in misconfig (System Configuration Utility) 'rundll32.exe' runs/executes the Power Schemes, or: LoadPowerProfiles.

The MS definition: Run a DLL as an App. 32 must mean 32bit.

Take that info and correlate it with this

That's what I come up with.. perhaps someone could explain this particular file in more detail.

Okay according to Microsoft this is what that common crashing Window's file does:

Of course, I went to MSKB, typed in 'rundll32' and 'rundll32.exe' and it threw up nothing like that for me!
