Warthog DarkKobold 05-31-2000, 06:33 PM opps, sorry. I am currently trying to immitate the Furby hack done at www.hackfurby.com, (http://www.hackfurby.com,) but I have no idea where to locate a motion control board (mentioned on the site as a servo) at a price in a reasonable range. The website said the one he owned was 50. The only ones I have seen are around 1000. I am interested in where I could pick one of those boards up. For cheap. Thanks. thekingofpain 05-31-2000, 11:34 PM A servo maybe like for remote control cars, boats planes etc??? krusty the klown 06-01-2000, 12:14 AM Errrr... I was kinda thinking (hoping) that hacking a furby involved using an axe http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif DarkKobold 06-01-2000, 09:58 AM According to the website, the board goes in his computer, and comunicates using the serial port. Any help on this would be appreciated. Better stop this before the humour police pay me a visit.... http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/redface.gif Eli 06-02-2000, 06:34 PM LOL Krusty. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif DarkKobold (Great name by the way), if the servo is a standard hobby grade servo they can be had for $15US or less for a generic low torque low speed unit brand new at any hobby store. It's when you're looking for either high torque, high speed, or small size that the price can easily jump to over $50. If you're really desperate for one I can see what I can dig up. No promises though... [This message has been edited by Eli (edited 06-02-2000).] DarkKobold 06-02-2000, 09:48 PM Thank you Eli! That was exactly the information I needed. It's good to know that some people do not feel immense hatred for smally furry creatures... I will enjoy hacking my furby http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif Eli 06-03-2000, 01:18 PM My pleasure. If you really need a servo I shold have a couple of broken ones coming in soon. If I can patch one up with spare parts I'll be sure to let you know. SysOpt.com
