icon problems

Somehow or another we have managed to get to the point where we can't change the icons on dos based programs...says they are controled by another program or read only..have been through everything on computer...also suspend has shown up on start menu but guess that is another problem...any ideas???

what operating system are you running on? In win 95, do a ctrl/alt/del and see what else is running - perhaps you can identify and shut down whatever else has hold of the dos programs.....
