I'm trying to set up a dual boot NT4.0 and Win98. I'd like to use the NTFS for NT, and CMOS. When I booted from the NT CD-ROM, NT incorectly indicated the disk as 8.4GB.FAT32 for Win98.
I've got my IBM 15.2GB HD detected LBA in
I then used fdisk from Win98 Fat32 to make a primary partition of 7.3GB and an extended partition of 7.3GB. I created a logical drive D: in the extended Partition. Using Partition magic in dos I deleated the primary Fat32, and recreated an NTFS partition instead.
Booting from the NT CD again, it sees the NTFS partition, but says it,s damaged. It then offers to re-format the partition but then stops with the error Partition is too large.
I know that 4.0 can't read fat 32, so I was planing to use Bootpart 2.20 from July's PC World.
Any help?

If I remember correctly, NT4 (sp1) will not allow NTFS boot partitions larger than something like 4 gig. I am not sure of the exact value. You must first create a partition smaller than 4 gig. After installing NT4 and sp3, you can increase the size of the partition using Partition Magic.

Thanks Toms!
I am using a disk w/SP1!
I had already done just that, and that part worked! I then created a FAT32 primary partition, then an extended DOS partition for a small FAT 16 drive to be able to transfer files from one OS to the other. Twice, on rebooting, I discovered that the Partition table was corrupted!
So much for dual booting this way!
