Was just watching TV and saw the Pepsi commercial with the stupid music. You could win a cd with your choice of songs! Wow!! I (and most of us) can do that anyway - at anytime!

I also heard about some vending machine that lets you choose.....I think it was around 6-7 songs to put on a cd. And for a fantastic deal: 5 (five) dollars!!

Anyways, the point of the stories, is that it all made me think of how fortunate I am to be able to have some of the latest technology. I apploud you guys who are hoping to start a non-profit organization and distribute computers to those who don't have one. I don't think the above is that special whatsoever. But some may think "That's soooooooo cool!! I wanna buy some Pepsi!", etc.

To any of you who have some systems that are in the "stone age" (and I know thats most of you) but can do basic word p. and maybe even internet, please donate them. Whether that be to a library, school, etc. or to someone you know.

Thanks!

Warthog

P.S. - any of you notice the new Spell Check format? It also seems a bit faster...

Hello,

Well, I can’t donate computor(s) but when I arrived here I found (in my neighbourhood) primary school with couple of faulty PC and bad network (government don’t finance everything/enough). I offered my help to fix them for free, of course they accepted and now (once) weekly I spent one hour in the school and everything run smoothly (almost).

Medo, thank god you don't offer your services to the computer labs in High Schools.....you'll have one helluva time sitting there and installing several Win98 OSes and setting things up again and again and again day after day after day....after the *monkeys* do their daily work(format C: ) http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif

It is indeed very satisfying to give your knowledge and time providing for the young children. Three thumbs up for medo!! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif Applause....clap clap clap http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Medo, You should be congratulated on your civic minded activities. Far too many people can't be bothered and at the opposite end of the spectrum people like yourself make all the difference in the world.

Medo,
I want to congratulate you also on your efforts. Donating something as limited and precious as your free time is a greater gift in my opinion. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I echo the above comments, Medo http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Everyone's community needs people like you. I applaud and admire all those who donate their machines, time and/or money to help those not as fortunate as some. You give us all hope for mankind.

Hello,

Thank you.
It’s my pleasure to help and I didn’t want to advertise myself.
