I'm using one of those Chinese casettes to try and get basic conversation phrases down (since I'm going to China in 25 days!), but I'm horrible at it. I don't even try to speak it because (Chinese) people make fun of me http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif. Heck, even some non-Chinese people make fun of me http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif.

"No" in latin is simple its: non. If you want any other Latin words download Quick Latin, www.quicklatin.com, (http://www.quicklatin.com,) about the only Latin translator out there...

Yeah? Then how come everyone I ask that from says "You can't say no in Latin." I'm gonna stick that to them when I find them...non, huh?

Probably depends on what kind of Latin you're talking about. Church Latin differed from classical Latin which differed depending on the era it was spoken in. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
I speak:
English (fluently)
German (conversationally-fluent).
Programming:
C++

English
French
German (conversational)
Italian (conversational)
Spanish (conversational)
Russian (informational)
Japanese (informational)
The only other language I get to practice regularly is French as I have a client that I frequently deal with who immigrated from the Paris metro area.
My Italian is getting rusty as all my relatives that speak it are passing on....
I learned German at a very early age from a very old and very nice German lady who befriended all the neighborhood kids. You had to speak German in order to get cookies/food. I was a glutton, so I really learned my German!!!
There's a sizeable Puerto Rican community here in town, so I have folks that I can jaw with in Spanish. I'm bigger than they are, so they don't laugh much!
I learned Russian at during my summer job at college. Worked for an electlic Russian emigre who sold novelties! He screamed almost everything he said, but he was a riot!
Finally, I picked up enough Japanese to be dangerous from a fellow that I shared an office with a few years ago. Not long after my new found language skill emerged, I told an important Japanese customer who was here on a show-and-tell sales junket that our product "...has features that sends swine to your mother's porch...", or some such. He frowned then laughed his *** off! I now just listen!!!
[Edit]
Oh yeah, programming:
Basic
Visual Basic
C/C++/Visual...
Pascal (very rusty)
Fortran (rustier still)
Cobol (get the WD-40!)

I can speak English, and read English and Spanish. I can read "Runic", too (thanks to many Ultima games!).
As far as programming languages go, I can code BASIC, C, C++ (learning), HTML, Visual Basic, Ada (I can't be the only one here, can I?), Javascript, Pascal...um...I think that's it. I can read FORTRAN, but haven't ever programmed in it....I used to know a little assembly. I mostly use Ada and C++ nowadays.

Any Vulcan will say that "logic" will indicate that "no' in Latin will be "non" as many of our words are derived from Latin, our words starting with "non" would modify the remander as "no" or "non" Back to my station on the bridge, live long and prosper. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
Klingon has no syntax, or logic.
