Emperor-Battle for Dune

I have been reading some of the reviews for this game. I am interested in any opinions people might have on it. I am considering purchasing it.........

I have this game .. its not bad. Good graphics and the game play is fun. However doesn;t leave much to my strategy loving self. Ever mission I have played so far (and I have just about beat the Atriedies) has been the same exact tactis. Basdically gather as many men as you can and storm the gates. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Now I know alot of games are like this. But I don;t think emperor really gives any other choices. Although maybe its just House Atriedis . Maybe the other houses are different. But its a pretty good game.

I found it very disappointing - although given Westwood's recent history I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised.

It's very derivative, nothing new, yet another boring C&C clone.

TA/Starcraft/AoK are all much better.

I've completed the game with all the three houses. Think all the three houses need a different strategy, although I know that sending few level3 ultimate units can waste a complete base and sending troops at the beginning of a defensive mission can succesfully end a level in 2minutes.

The units really differ this time - a change from previus strategy dune series.

I've completed using House Atreides. I think that the AI of the enemy units can definitely be improved. Repair trucks sometimes would be so stupid as to go all the way around to the front of my front-line Minotaurs to repair them, ending up dead by the packs. :(

Overall, this game is pretty good. A big improvement over Dune 2 and Super Dune 2. :)
