I need to get the alphabet decoder for Kings Quest 6. I'm stuck at the Scared Mountain. If someone has it can you point me to either an active link or scan the image and post it here.

I know you're laughing but I had the sudden urge. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

Is that worth playing? I have the the whole pack that goes to KQ7 I think, and then I have KQ8...which was real cool

My favorites of the series were KQ1 and KQ3

I have to agree with Ironforge. Played one and two and loved them. Picked up 7 and played it a handful of times before setting it aside. Just not the same <sigh>

Bean - I reckon it peaked at about KQ3, but then I got stck and dis-heartened, 'co smy borther finished it and I couldn't carry on trying at the risk of looking stupid... might try it again someday....

I played Hero's Quest I the other day (aka "Quest for Glory: So you want to be a Hero?")... in some way I think that captured all the best bits of KQ, but added jsut that little bit more http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Hero's Quest 2 went a little over the top though...

Yeah, the earliest ones in the series were the best ones. I have KQ8, yes, it's cool - graphics wise - and I suppose gameplay might be alright... but it's way too short and too easy. As for the story...well...let's just say it leaves much to be desired. I think it's supposed to be an RPG (sure doesn't fit very well in any other category) but it just about doesn't qualify for that.

I started plaing them on the Commodore Amiga that a friend of mine had when we were teens. I saw a CD of the first 3 Kings Quest games at the local Media Play a couple of years ago. To this day I still kick myself for not buying it then. I have not seen it there or anywhere else since then.
I could buy it on the net somewhere, but I tend to impulse shop when it comes to gaming. (Ohhhhhhhh what a pretty box..............)

The theme in Kings Quest 3 was very original.. I don't think it has ever been replicated?

I enjoyed sneaking around the house when the wizzard was away on "errands"

You had to hurry though.. because you knew if he came back and caught you snooping around you were toast! Kind of added a little suspense to the mixture..

I miss those first couple of games and no nothing has come close to replicating that. I wish I kind find something close. Maybe that's why I am such an impulsive game shopper.

I read the reviews on the last one and it sounds like even the die hard KQ fans are disappointed.
