Hawkeye178 Lokks 08-31-2001, 05:12 PM its got to be Half Life or that sort of area of game i.e UT or quake however the Mods are better than the gmae i.e tfc or cs does that count Barney 08-31-2001, 05:28 PM The coolest games ever made are Driver and Max Payne. Police chases in American muscle cars and killing thugs in slow motion, can't get any cooler than that. The doesn't mean those are the best games, though. Kruzin 08-31-2001, 07:06 PM http://www.sysopt.com/forum/Forum8/HTML/002018.html [Neo770] 08-31-2001, 08:51 PM The coolest game ever made is IMO Tomb Raider. Only the first one though, the rest of them where really bad. Warthog 08-31-2001, 10:52 PM To decide the coolest game ever made, you first have to look at the legacy. Half Life was pretty big, hell, it's several years old and there are a **** load of mods for it. TONS of people still play it. Slightly smaller, Rainbow Six spawned tons and tons of copies in this unique genre a realistic FPS (who would've thought?). Warthog Hellios 09-01-2001, 02:27 PM AoE2 is far from the coolest game, total annihilation is easily equal to that, Half life.....it's very nice, but not that long, and xen is just pants, i'd say if you're after a gorgeus game, buy unreal tornament, and download tactical ops2 from www.to-center.com (http://www.to-center.com) cause it's superb!! Deus Ex was very nice though, buy that if you want to spend hours playing a gorgeus game!!!! But if you want something just as strategic, if not more, get operation flashpoint, now that is nice, and long too Godsaysso 09-01-2001, 02:40 PM the best game is half life counter strike. end of story. godsaysso voogru 09-01-2001, 02:44 PM Counter-Strike?! I think it totally sucks now. too many ****ing cheaters. every server i go too has a wallhacker...or aimhacker...or WhiteWalls...or something to give them an advantage. i quit cs and moved onto TFC (team fortress classic) stilll cheaters but not as many as in cs. cheaters suck! oops lol best game ever made was Half-Life! -voogru [This message has been edited by voogru (edited 09-01-2001).] RedSun 09-01-2001, 02:51 PM By far the coolest game out there is Max Payne.. on the other side though, I think that Tactical Ops rules ( way better than counter strike ) awforrest 09-01-2001, 03:20 PM Deus Ex. No game to date has been more compelling or engrossing. BBA 09-01-2001, 03:25 PM Half Life. The only game I ever played that really got better and better the deeper you got into it. The weapons are just way too cool also ( I was hooked when I learned how to laser target the rocket launcher to kill helicopters http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif ) Inanis 09-01-2001, 03:35 PM The best game? Pong. Or maybe PacMan. Hellmund 09-02-2001, 05:10 AM Snake, played it on Vic20, then Atari, then on many different PC's and now mainly on the mobile phone http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Other than that I'd think of UT, HL and HW. Just in case you don't know that's Unreal Tournament, Half Life and Home World. Each was a radical new game http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif eagle1 09-02-2001, 08:31 AM Coolest game???? Hmmmmm......... Full Throttle from LucasArts! That game is just awesome! There is the Need for Speed series. And... GTA (Grand Theft Auto) and sequel.. for the first time it let you be a bad guy.! ^hyd^ 09-02-2001, 11:22 AM hhmm, Max Payne is pretty neat! But I much prefer Counter-Strike, I get pretty into it and lose all track of time! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Makaveli 09-02-2001, 05:49 PM Coolest game...Max Payne Second coolest game.. Kingpin I have Dues Ex and I havn't gotten past the first level, but I havn't found it very interesting at all.... The grahics don't really amaze me either.. Does this game get better in farther levels??? I've heard such great things about this game, maybe I just havn't seen them yet??? -MaK t048 09-03-2001, 12:25 AM I like Hexen. I got it in '94 and I still play it. It is just a timeless game and it has been ported to Linux. E-Z-Eroc 09-04-2001, 02:34 PM I will have give another to CS, a counter-terrorist/terrorist mod for Half-Life. Out lived all other games I have played. thompson16 09-05-2001, 12:18 AM Half Life & UT No more needs to be said! BL00EY! 09-06-2001, 10:28 PM if you've ever played it you'll understand... TRIBES (the first one,the second is unmitigated ****) you MUST have a fairly good connection to the net 33k or less is a no no,it's why i now have cable. the learning curve is rather steep but due to server-side patches there are almost zero cheats,i.e. happy flag, shiva etc. etc. but there's nothing like jetpacking over a hill to throw a spinfusor disk down someones throat when you KNOW that the guy/gal you just fragged is someone sitting at a computer somewhere else in the world. NO BOTS,no AI bots (exept spoonbot)that are unimaginative and uncreative. Just other vicious and devious players, just like you. my 2cents [This message has been edited by BL00EY! (edited 09-06-2001).] BL00EY! 09-06-2001, 10:31 PM plus you can pick it up for around 9 bucks at wall mart. Gomer 09-07-2001, 01:33 AM BRIDGE BUILDER!!!!!!!!!! statiatech 09-07-2001, 07:04 AM Tribes is #1 in my book. Unreal and UT are up there also. LostBok 09-07-2001, 07:57 AM ACTION: Half-Life is RIGHT up there... the more I play it, the more I enjoy it... UT was nice, but got a bit boring after a bit, even online. Half-Life mods just keep on addingto an absolute classic... unbeatable action with some great strategy too! STRATEGY: Homeworld - good, but complex! AoE2 - very good, very re-playable... C&C Red Alert (original not RA2), has to be the best strategy game though, Aftermatch and CS mods are good too. Above all, Half-Life has been played the most, enjoyed the longest and will be remember the longest too! LostBok Cyber Lawyer 09-07-2001, 09:12 AM David Braben's and Ian Bell's "Elite" (circa 1984). The first and coolest 3D Space shooter. SysOpt.com
