Ok, I've tried this, and ever since I tried it, I have had no lock-ups what so ever.. It seems to be working! Hopefully it stays that way.. What I did was I went to "properties" on the taskbar from the desktop, and clicked the option of having the taskbar always on top, off People who are having lock-up problems give this a try and tell me how it works!! Im hoping its not just a luck of no lock-ups, and that this is actually a solution!! Im not sure why this would make a difference, but if it works im happy!

I don't have a lockup problem, but the taskbar did cause an annoyance when I played Payne. It would flicker at the bottom of my screen, whether I was in-game or in a menu. By using MaK's trick, it stopped the flickering, so I guess I owe you some sort of gratitude for an otherwise obvious solution for a problem like mine. Thanks.

:Brudy's GhettoGaming Rig:
900MHz Duron @ 990MHz (9x110MHz)
320MB CAS/2 PC133 Micron
EPoX 8-KTA2L KT-133E mobo
Dual 30gb Seagate Barracuda ATA/100 7200rpm (RAID 0) on a Promise controller
GeForce2 MX400 64mb video
Hercules XP Game Theater sound
Antec case/300w p.s.
Tons o' cooling (occasionally run the rig at 1200MHz [9x133MHz] and cook the video card core a bit, but here in Cali we're having a heat wave, and I'm just being on the safe side.)

http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif No Problem.. I had the same problem, only it wasnt with the taskbar. It was with "Callwave" (a program that acts as an online answering machine, so I dont tie up the phone line.) all I have to do is close it http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

i had the flickering problem, i'll have to try that, you cught a flukey little fix there matey. When a game crashes when you're running it from cd's, the music will normaly continue to play, cause it generaly goes straight from the cd to the sound card, so not through where everything has crashed
