Gamepad/ Joystick

Will the MS Sidewinder 3D Pro or Sidewinder Gamepad work in Win2000? The software for it says only 98. Very strange. I connected the 3D Pro to my Win2K system (no SP, IWill KK266 w/ onboard sound) and it connects, then disconnects, then connects, then disconnects. Very strange.

I have used the MS GamePad with W2K successfully. I was also unsuccessful on other occasions with different sound cards. In the MSKB there are some articles relating to certain soundcard_chipsets/W2K/SideWinder_GamePad combinatons not working. For my machine that didn't work right I just changed to the MS Gamepad using USB.

Oh...there is at least one downloadable patch for some of the cards too.
