Just a thought - does it need to be enabled in BIOS?? I know one old mobo I had did have a 'standby' feature in the BIOS, so I enabled it then much to my amazement, this standby feature popped up in windoze http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Worth checking out...

Can't remember if the option is there, but my keyboard has a sleep key, it puts it in standby lickity split on win98se...

2 places to check... In BIOS, there is APM to enable and check those settings.

Control Panel, Power Management, check there as well...

I was once told by a tech support guy that Windows' Power Management settings override the BIOS APM settings... sorry no specifics... but that's what comes to mind at the moment.
