I was having fun playing around with the mini systems in Wally World today. I noticed that the $299.99 Aiwa system I was using had a sticker on it that said, "Supports CD-Rewritable". That wasn't exactly it but close.
I'm like: "Cool".
I thought CD-RWs were too dark to be played on a cd player but I guess this one has extra sensitive sensor thingys.
You guys should check 'em out on your next visit.

There are cd-roms that can play cd-rw's. These are called Multi-Read CD-ROMs. It sounds like they have incorporated this technology into a stereo system which is a nice idea. Sounds pretty cool. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Yep some systems out there playback CD-RWs. I have a Sony Mini Hi-Fi System, model #MHC-NX3AV that plays back CD-RW's just fine.
I noticed the same thing in an ad for a Phillips portable CD player. Fairly inexpensive too. Too bad it's so ugly... lol If it would only play MP3s and we'd be all set. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

just wait a while they will come out with one that plays mp3s
uhm.. if u burn MP3s to a CD/RW or CD/R, i don't know, but i did that, and ALL MY CD-PLayers read it, including my oldest one before writers were even made. weird.

If you use some cd burning software, they automatically encode the mp3 to cd format (.wav?). I am sure EZ CD Creator 4.0 does this and Nero may as well.

Well i'm a big aiwa fan. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif I think they had one with an integrated burner which i think is pretty cool. Instead of having to buy that phillips burner which was a deck. My brother bought a 389 watt aiwa stereo with a 120 watt subwoofer that kicks **** http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif I've always liked aiwa. My brother has never had any problems with his aiwa products and i recommend them to anyone. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif But anyways i like the idea of aiwa pleasing more people by playing cd-rw's.

Eli, Joel, I read about an AIWA car deck that will play MP3s!! It's a cd player that will play straight MP3s off the cd! I've been looking for where to buy one, but, I don't think they're really out yet. If I ever find where to buy one, I will post where I found it.

Thxmanu, I've heard of this as well. I would rather the $120 Canadian diskman clone that reads CD-RWs that I saw could also read MP3s. Not for that price I'm afraid.
