BIG hard drive from Dell

I went to Dells site, like I do every few days to check for updates, and low and behold their biggest hard drive is now a 75GB!!!! They also added 45GB. That's some major space right there.

I haven't checked the Dell site but I'm betting that's the newIBM Deskstar 75GXP (http://www.storage.ibm.com/hardsoft/diskdrdl/desk/ds75gxp.htm). Dell consistently uses Maxtor's and IBM's.

I wonder how they factory format it...one gargantuous 75 GB partition?

That's what I thought. It sounds about right, too. They say at the bottom that it should begin shipping around 6/1/00.
