I just did a clean install of windows 2000 with sp2 slip streamed into it on the cd, I did all the updates from windows update, I installed the VIA 4in1 4.29 drivers because the 4.32 leave my box unbootable, NOW I installed halflife, installed the update patch and then installed Counter strike, configured it all and went to play, as soon as counter strike goes to enter the game and play ...when the console moves up the screen to reveal the game, it freezes and locks my box up, there has been a repeating sound from the game each time over and over while its frozen (like a guy moaning from injury sound) I have a Matrox g400 32 mb single head and I looked and it supports agp 4x so I enabled that in my bios, I also have a SBlive card with the latest drivers installed, is it something to do witht he 4.29 4in1 drivers? is it my soundcard acting crazy? what is it? please help

I had a similar problem a while back except I had a geforce 2mx graphics card and diiferent mobo, but same chipset. Try disabling your AGP x4, set it at x2 and download this patch http://www.amd.com/products/cpg/bin/agp2k521.exe
