Tell me how you liek this one, i think it's great. the best mix of FPS and RPG. Good storytelling too, yeah the AI is idiotic, yeah it's slow, yeah it crashes once too many times, but i still keep playing it because of one simple factor. FUN! Something that manygames today overlook, they go for graphix glitz, stability, good MultiPlayer, but more than 1/2 of them are a bore o play, this is a great and refreshing change for me.

I think Deus Ex is one of the best games on the market, it has something no other game has really had, freedom, it has many different outcomes and possiblitities for every decision you make. The graphics are also very good, I personnally have had no problems with crashing . It's my favourite game so far. Consequently how did you finish the game? I blew up the reactor and took out area51, was expecting to see a big explosion, a little disappointed all you hear is tong saying "Find us JC" and you see him running away from the reactors.

My computer just has a lot of problems with crashing, but that's for the tech forum. I didn't finish it yet, I only got it a short whiel ago, i'm in the shipyards to blow up that superfreighter, but i cant get inside!, i'm still working on it, but i'm not playing it as much now, (BGII)because of the crashing, will resume playing it after i get my computer fixed, which will probably take about a month or so http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

I dont understand it - people say the AI is idiotic, and it is - it's incredibly stupid but still it gets rated as one of the best games of the year. Why?? I'm confused!! :P

I loved it, played it straight through winter break. I really realized how great it was when I looked at the clock, saw it was 2:30 AM (usually go to sleep ~10 PM), but still wanted to play.

I love the graphics and how you can do something to most everything (open, pick up, move, etc.). Even play basketball or shoot pool (though not very well).

Hey stodge, read what i wrote in my first post, FUN, even though it's really stupid Ai, and slow, all the aspects of teh game, like the story overwhelm the bad things, and even though PCGamer gave it like 63% or sumethin perent, they made it game of the year, which it certainly deserves, and by the way it stopped crashing yesterday so i'm playing it alot more now http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

You don't really notice the AI because your always busy wondering what to do next, it's very engrossing, I played it the whole way through in one day, from 9am to about 7pm.

It's the first game I've gone back to several times once compleated. Every time I've found new ways to play it, with diferent combinations of augs , weapons & tactics

Yeh I know what you mean, first time through I killed everything in sight with a shotty and Assault rifle, Sniper as well of course and used the ballistic protection and targeting all the time, next time I used the heavy weapons and literally blew the **** out of everything. Then I had especially good fun with combat strength and the dragons edged blade, went that way and had a lot of fun. I've still yet to do it with comp skills, electronics and such and just use the pistol though.

Yes,it is one of the greatest games ever made,that is maybe because Warren Spector designed the game.I bought it when it first hit the streets,and beat it that week,what a fun week it was too.This is the best FPS IMO,simply because of the game play it offers,and the massive replayability.........but then again this is not the first game made by Warren Spector that offers such awesome gameplay and variance...........if you like this one give System SHock 2 a go........it is Deus Ex's equal in gameplay,and far surpasses Deus Ex in story...........it has awesome graphics to boot http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Deus Ex got more game of the year awards then any other game last year,and with good reason.System Shock the opriginal,even a couple of years ago was still rated like #8 in the 100 top games of all time.......and that was made in 1992 by warren spector........If you are a warren fan,or just like Deus Ex a whole lot,then you should also be expecting the sequal to thief 3 that warren spector is heading up right now with the most of the original thief 1 and 2 design teams.

They're also working on 'Deus ex 2', I'm wondering what they'll do though, I'm guessing it'll be a prequel and you play as Paul Denton and find out about what he got upto in Hong Kong.....
