Quick Battlezone 2 question. When I jump into the rocket tank or a scavenger, the camera angle changed to a third person view and stays there. How do I change it back to the first person camera? Sniping is impossible after the view changes. Thanks.

Press F1 for cockpit, F2 for 'over shoulder' and F3 fpr 'Third person' . It's in the manual, I couldn't remember and had to dredge through the big pile, else I'd have been thinkin about this all night...
Aww man thanks for the response. I didn't think I'd get one. Unfortunately I do not have a manual for this game, which explains my ignorance... I'll have to give it a shot. Thanks again. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I actually got that off the mousemat that came with the original Bzone, I remembered that you didn't need to hold shift on the second one.
Actually after trying it, I figured out for myself (trial and error) that you do indeed need to hold the shift key to change the views in Battlezone 2. Without the shift key you're just selecting different units. Thanks a million though, that problem was driving me nuts. Now, back to the thin ice. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

Maybe it's the original Bzone you don't need to hold shift.....I might have re-configured the keys for some reason. Been about 6months since I used it though.

Thin ice you say? I seem to recall a very annoying mission where the recycler ended up under water quite a number of times, and then there was those giant creatures that kept eating it while I was taking out the tanks....
That's the one. I kinda cheated though, since I read a little about that level on the internet while I was looking for info on the camera angle thing. The toughest part so far was taking out three enemy troops with my lone ship while my recycler so damaged only one more hit would do it in. Now that was brutal. Great game. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Actually I kinda cheated too, I dropped the res so it ran at a higher FPS and went ahead and waited where the tanks come from and snipered'em. Of course I wasn't sure once I got it pasted the ice whether I could deploy it or not.... I ended up not deploying it, stealing a scion mobile turret and moving it through that pass to the drop ship....now I think of it could you deploy the thing? there were enough geisers there when you got pasted the ice.....I probaly could of....made that harder than it had to be http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
ha ha Yes sir, you could deploy it. I didn't have much choice. Mine was so damaged it would've blown up if you looked at it the wrong way. I might actually like this game better than Warcraft II... lol

Dam, though so, that was a little ~too hard the way I did it, I took out 4 of their tanks getting the recycler there but then they sent turrets and I had no ammo, I had to sniper 'em, get in one and guard the pass until the recycler got through....
Acutally I think I'd like Warcraft II more if I could get down on the battlefield and beat the **** out of some ogre with a hammer!
Hmm... So did the recycler get loaded into the drop ship the way you did it? I'm wondering because the way I did it, I have no recycler in the next level and there was a comment about "that recycler was supposed to be headed here" or something along those lines. Do you remember if you had a recycler in the following level? It's the one where you have to haul derelict scavengers to the training centre to get pilots, and do something with the enemy's power source just across a lake.

It made it through without deploying but I don't remember there being a recycler in the next stage though, I think it's already destroyed before you start because the base is under attack right? It's the one where you've got a few medium tanks, a rocket tank and a couple of tugs, and a few constructors. THere's a Lake in the centre? Am I getting close, I havn't played it in a while http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
Yes sir, that's the one. Major Manson (or someone) said something about the missing recycler at the beginning of the mission. I was hoping that the recycler was present the way you did it. Oh well, that saves me from trying the thin ice level again. lol
I still can't believe my FPS drops like this with a game this old (well over a year old).

Nope, did that last mission the hardest way possible and wasn't rewarded at all..
Yeah I noticed when there was 3-4 walkers on the map it dropped from like 60fps to like 15-25. Then again, UT is over 2 years old by now and it still give high-end gaming machines a hard slog http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif.
Same here. My Celeron 600@676 and V3 3500TV gets really choppy when there are a lot of units on screen, or whe the weather gets really nasty. It looks so nicce though, I can't bear to turn the weather effects off... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif Hopefully the P3 chip I have coming will help. Trying to play on my ol' PII 300 sure does hurt though. Is there a way to display the FPS in this game?

Dam, that musta been nice, when I originally got Bzone2 I had a Cel400@552 and M64 running at 160/180(from 100/110). So it didn't run well with weather effects and everything on except at 640X480X16, still looked mighty purdy though http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
