I currently have a Gravis GamePad Pro. It is several years old and I use it for Fifa 2001.

What is the best game controller nowadays for this sort of game?

I love my Logitech Wingman Rumble Pad! It has Force feedback, USB support, two little joystick thingy's, 7 buttons, 2 triggers, D-Pad, throttle, and costs $29. It's really cool!

I bought the Gravis xTerminator USB Digital gamepad recently, and it is a great little controller

D-Pad
Analogue mini-joystick
two trigger buttons
throttle slide
POV hat
analogue RZ axis on opposing triggers
9 other regular buttons
good software
no spiking!

The RZ axis is great when set up as a throttle for race games. NFS Porsche and SportCars GT are so much easier http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Can't remember, but I think there is a FF version too...

Hey spidey! Do you mean the original Sidewinder? That was a nice gamepad! I let my cousin borrow it two years ago, and haven't seen it since... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif I guess he liked it!

I still like the rumble pad better. Not as comfortable, but it RuMbLeS!!!! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I too own the classic MS gamepad. Very fine product. It really shook the gaming community how MS stopped making it too. If you find one in the store snap it up at the very least you can resell it and most likely make a profit. My friend has one that I am going to buy off of him (he's moving to a Mac platform.... don't worry he's going into graphics so it's allowable http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif)

I agree with Bob, I also have the rumble pad.
I use it for NHL 2001 and I think it it is alot easier with the little joystick. Also works good for driving games.

I use a Creative Cobra USB game pad and it's very comfortable to use. The programmable buttons is definetly a plus!

I have the original Sidewinder game pad (black). I only got it to use it in split screen mode in NFS 3 with my friends (ahhh the good times we had).

I still use my Gravis PC Gamepad pro only because I only use it for simple games such as Doom.

Any other game than that i use, keyboard/mouse combo, since i don't play flight sims or racing games, i'm good to go http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Same here I owned 2 gravis pros for like 2 years.. so far I haven't used them that much - only on Fifa2K and Nba2K. I usually don't play those games, only when my friend came over.
