There's Duke Nukem 1 & 2. Both are sidescrollers a la Commander Keen http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif . I believe Duke Nukem 1 is 16 colors and Duke Nukem 2 256.

Wow! Commander Keen! The memories! Like the first time I found the pogo stick! "Neato! Now he can jump high!".

Any one ever play Scorched Earth or Chopper Commando? Great games. The stuff I grew up on!

Actually there has never been a Duke Nukem game in 3D http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif The one that came out in 1996 was all based in the Build engine which is not actually a 3D engine just a bunch of BMPs made to look 3D http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

thanks guys.... yep i have had duke 1 and 2 for many years. hell its about the only shootem game i like, along with tyrian.
mostly i only play the rpg's like tex murphy, some ot the startrek, indiana jones, myst & riven ect.

the doom type games make me wanna chuck (physically) something to do with the movement of the screen on the retina (or some medical **** like that). anyone else here get similar probs?

My wife and a friend both suffer from the same motion sickness think, Dleta Force 2 or Landwarrior (3) doesnt bother my friend at all.

I also heard that doing stuff like sitting farther away from your moniter helps. Also doing stuff like raising the refresh rate, and I think brightining the colors helps. Also leave a window open so you have fresh air, and having a bright room helps. Actually I'm not certain about those. But I think thats what I heard helps.

Wolfenstein on a 14" monitor would get me sick after zipping through those corridors for an hour. My 17" lets me sit back and get my head out of the monitor. Check out the Game Empire CD or 1000 game CD for the older DOOM series.

Ah..the era of Shareware on floppies and 2.5D games.
Duke3D, Doom, Wolfenstien, Rise of the Triad, Heretic and even the good ol Catacomb 3D http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif(wasn't that the first?)

And I was a HUGE fan of Duke Nukem II. I feel old now.. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif I remember the intro was awesome.

Remember Raptor: Call of the Shadow anyone?
It's up there with Tyrian and..uh..Major Stryker, but with a more serious attitude...Great game.

Never got into commander keen and it's 3-4 sequels, but there was crystal caves, and Jill of the Jungle, and..forgot what it was called...House of Horror or something? I just remember that mummys n stuff attack you and you can get a flamethrower at one point.

Oh..and Lemmings http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif.

Back in the day when Dosshell was my GUI of choice...oh man the memories. I'm sure the euphoria will wear off in a couple minutes or so.

I remember the original Castle Wolfenstein. Also joust, pacman, moon raider, Wizard of War (which this happened to be my favorite game), can think of plenty of others. I just don't wanna make this a loooooooong reply.
I'm kinda starting to feel old now.

Ahh old memories I played Castle Wolfestein on a Mac.

Yeah and also Wolfestein gave me a lot of headaches until Doom came it was better, like some guy said that old games that were REAL DEMOS because they had a lot of levels, not like today demos that you play only two levels as much.
