A haiku is a type of poem which captures a feeling, a moment in time and does it within the following rules.
The first line must contain 5 syllables.
The second line must contain 7 syllables.
The third line contains 5 syllables again.
Once in awhile I write Quake2 Haikus. Here are a few:
I fragged him at last
But advancing I step on
My own damned grenade
I called him camper
Then I was disconnected
Guess he had admin
I lost but don't mind
Because my heart's full of joy
For having played Quake.
With negative fragz
These backflips into lava
Don't seem so graceful.
A statue that breathes?
A rock that shoots back at me?
No, it's a camper.
He hasn't missed yet
Perhaps I should query him
"Yes I'm a ratbot!!!"
My heart thumps wildly
For I cannot return fire
I'm out of ammo.
He should have been dead
Instead I lie in pieces
He had red armor
The railgun goes off
As the slug speeds to its mark
I wait for my frag
So many gamers
Don't be too suprised to find
That "chick" is a dude!
A rocket launcher
Feels good in my hands when I
Go to rocket jump
His insults are good
I stop shooting and ask him
Where'd he meet my mom?
