I like to know what is the best detonator driver and direct x to use to get thet top performance? I am using a P3BF and a P3.

I assume you have a GeForce or later. Then you will find that DX8 and v12.60 drivers should offer excellent gaming performance. If you are seriously hardcore about maximum frame rate, then regressing back to v6.50 will generally prove superior for DX7 optimized games. Even then, the performance difference is usually less than 4%.

The difference between 12.41 and 12.60 is minimal. As for regressing back to DX7/earlier drivers, I recommend not as the performance difference is generally on a few percent for DX7 games. For example, what is the difference in playing Unreal Tournament at 62fps as compared to 64fps? Not much, so keep the latest drivers so you will have better support for DX8 games as they start arriving in the near future.

Thank you. I am using a 6800 DDR Geforce 256 chipset. Currently I am using the DX8 and the 12.41. Yes, I would like to maximize the frame rate so you would recommend going back to dx7 and the 6.5, but later is it worth it for later games in the future? IS the 12.6 better than the 12.41?
