Anybody playing Rogue Spear here? I experienced horrible warping problems when I'm playing online with other people. On the screen it shows I have good ping becox I'm on a fast cable. However I can't shoot those people because there are serious warping happening. I wonder my internet connection sharing has anything do with it? Or is it my video card? I scored 2251 for 3D MARK so I dun think video card is the problem. I'm running Win ME on the primary machine and Win 98 on another machine.

have you tried patching the game with the latest update for it???? hit the rogue spear site and look around. you might find a fix with a patch for the game. it just sounds like a game issue, or a driver issue for your video card.

Are you JUST playing Rogue Spear or are you playing Urban Ops too?
The latest (and only that I know of) patch for RS is version 2.05
For UO, it is 2.52 (one before that is 2.51).
Has this always happened or did it just start happening recently?
You said "internet connection sharing" - you on a network? That shouldn't have anything to do with it (especially with cable), but anything could be a potential prob, I guess.
What version of DirectX do you have?

Ok, well perhaps booya is right. Can you try it on another comp (not sharing i-net)?

Your problem is at least one thing, possibly two. If you are running Internet connection sharing you are going to get warping... Your ping amy look good because that is a direct connection between you and the server, a small amount of data is sent directly to you and then back, the time it takes is your ping (more than likely you know that part already). What happens, as someone alerady mentioned is packet loss. With Internet Connection Sharing, the data comes into your first computer and doesn't know where to go from there, so it gets confused and some of it goes to the other computer(s). I would suggest getting a Linksys Router to split your connection rather than ICS. Also, if you are running ICS on a Windows98 machine this packet loss is much more likely as Win9x can't ocntrol two Network cards like WinNT can.

Being a huge RS fan and playing it everyday, in my experience, its not you that is having the problem. The patches are not going to solve your problem due to the fact that you wouldnt be able to play unless you have the 2.05 patch anyway(if you are playing on zone). The warping is due to the host not having enough upload speed (bandwidth) to support the amount of people playing, then you get into people appearing all over the place and whats called (lag) where your frags dont throw, or you shoot someone and they arent dieing.
Hope this answers your question.
Cheers,
