I have a Matrox G400 Max and I'd like to start playing some games that take advantage of the dual monitors. Anyone have a list or any suggestions?

Matrox has a list on their enhanced gaming page:

Quite frankly, a lot of those games just suck http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

Another issue -
Is Matrox going down the tube? Nvidia seems to be conquering the market.

And many of those games kick ****, and more DH enabled games are coming out all the time.

Matrox isn't going anywhere.

They've been in business over a quarter of a century, and have many OEM deals with system integrators.
No, they're not huge in the retail PC market. But they are huge in many fields that have nothing to do with gaming PCs, in addition to their workstation and OEM deals. Their imaging and video divisions are their main concern.
Almost everything you see on TV has been through a Matrox DigiSuite system. Almost every hospital has Matrox powered imaging systems. Thier RT2x00 series capture cards are unmatched in their segment.
nVidia only holds the lead in one market segment: hard core PC gamers. Look at what happened to 3DFX with their gamers only marketing.

No, they are far from "going down the tube"

Matrox doesnt cater to the same crowd as NVidia does. 3Dfx did, thats why thier gone. Matrox is more for professionals, and NVidia is for enthusiasts. They have no need to fight eachother. The G400 or G450 cant fight a Geforce 2 GTS in terms of speed, but the Geforce2 MX's Twinview cant compete with Matrox's Dualhead.

How exactly would a game take advantage of dual monitor support? Wouldn't it just show the same screen on two monitors?

Matrox is here to stay..........they may not be among the highest performing of the enthusiast cards ever again......but I am sure they will still dabble in the pc market........hell they may even make a sweet come back http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif (hopefully someone will give nvidia some comp)

Whats up Kruzin..........still over at the matrox forums???

Spidey-
Whsn a game is written for dualhead it can display different things on each monitor. Just check the link I listed above for examples.

Yea...I still hang out at MURC. I moderate a couple of the forums there. I also beta test drivers for Matrox on all of my Matrox powered PCs. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Agreed. I think Matrox will be around for quite some time. They did have a card designed to be an accelerator add-on targeted at gamers called the m3D (PowerVR API). It came out around the same time as the Voodoo1 series, but didn't do very well. The dual head cards are definitely a great asset when it comes to budget production such as programming, video editing and 2d/3d graphics design. I've never used a dual head for gaming, but I've heard it's pretty cool.

Yes, Matrox will be around for a while.

Although warthog does have a point, most of those games do kind of suck.
