I made my wallpaper. I took the cover of a cool physics book that I was reading. It was about space time and relativity and that sorta thing, then I took it and combinded it with a screenshot from 3DMark 2000 (the green code stuff) and there you have it!

To tell the truth my wallpaper is just colour.. blue.. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif I don't really mind since I usually have windows over it. Plus, Frozen that background looks very familar, think it was the demo from 3DMark2000??

Ok...here it is (yes, quite ordinary):
<IMG SRC="http://a.postmypic.com/a.nsf/Z/vietnamEYHO/$file/vietnam.jpg" border=0>
This is sorta my own creation. In fact, a few days before this thread existed, I was working on a wallpaper. This just motivated me to finish it http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif.
This is an embossed pic of a Navy sailor fighting for his life on a patrol boat during the Vietnam War. He's firing an M60 medium machine gun. The look on his face was what captivated me, so I decided to immortalize it.
I used my $10 scanner to scan the picture, erased the background and embossed it.

You win the prize, Bob! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
I found some blank icons in some program and made them as shortcut icons to an empty text file I just created. After the blank icons were in place, I deleted the text file. So, when I accidentally click on them, it searches for a program that doesn't exist. No harm done because it doesn't open anything.
I like to keep my comp very organized. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Used to have photo of my cat, Goose, a Blue Persian (and why he shouldn't be, I don't know). But Goose is no more and the photo made me blue too so I switched to an awesome photo of the Andromeda Galaxy (Hubble photo, I think). Really beautiful. However, recently I switched to a photo of my wife (she's really beautiful, too) and now somehow she doesn't mind me spending so much time on the computer. Don't know why http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

Hey Warthog -- how did you get the icons off your desktop and onto your taskbar? I know how to get my desktop icons on the taskbar but if I take them off the desktop they are deleted from the taskbar. And seems to me not much point having them in two places. But I really would prefer to have a clean desktop with taskbar access like you've got.

Tom, you should just be able to drag and drop the desktop icon onto the taskbar. The desktop icon will still be there, but just delete it. The taskbar icon will still be on the taskbar. That is what I did.
You somehow might be making a shortcut of the desktop icon and placing that on the taskbar. And when you delete the desktop icon, the taskbar icon is deleted as well because the taskbar icon is a shortcut to the desktop (verses a shortcut to the actual application).
Catch my drift http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif?

Here's my pic. Made a sketch on paper, scanned it, inverted the colors, blurred it out a bit- and came up with this.
I too like a clean computer =).
<IMG SRC="http://www.ematic.com/Stormnnorm/images/desktop.jpg" border=0>
Just an edit: The reflection was also added via Photoeditor. I actually got the idea from www.visualparadox.com (http://www.visualparadox.com) and their "Onyx Table" Series, which was 3D rendered objects with reflections in total black. I just wanted a different shape than they had - but I thought I had better give them credit for the basic design...

I like my icons on the right because I have had the icons on the left scence i started using a computer and it got a little boring. So I changed.
I would never want my conputer to look like a MAC.
