Hi guys,
My bro just got Delta Force2 by Novalogic. We've installed it on 3 different systems, but the graphics suck on each one! First I'll show you what the systems are.

(1) Duron 700/Voodoo3 3000 AGP/128mb PC100
(2) K6-2 500/Voodoo3 2000 PCI/128mb PC100
(3) K6-2 500/GeForce2 MX AGP/128mb PC133

On the first two, we can only get software rendering and (of course) low resolutions. It plays really choppy, too.

On the third system, I can get hardware rendering and choose between 800x600 or 640x480. But the graphics are terrible either way and it's really choppy.

Does anybody know how I can fix this? No other games seem to give me trouble and I'm getting good benchmarks especially on my sys#3.

Also, what is "turbo" in the video options menu?

Thanks a lot,
AnakiMana

Ha Good luck! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
It will only run hardware mode in 32 bit color which the Voodoo's wont do [the games hardware rendering only renders buildings and maybe characters]
Therefore it will run like a dog on anything less than a Pentium 5 2.0 gig with a Gforce 4 http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
Delta Force 1 and 3 are fun but not 2!

I believe Delta Force2 uses a Voxel based technology to create the wide outdoor areas and detailed grass etc. Voxels are not 3D accelerated so the game runs very slowly on anything but a killer setup. The third instalment ditches the Voxels in favour of true 3D acceleration but loses the grass etc.

I think thats right anyway, I am sure someone will correct me if I ve wandered of on a tangent (RobRich).

Regards

Eddy

AnakiMana,
Your system should work fine, I had a voodoo 32mb pci and had no problems.
Try this, go to start, Run and type in DXDIAG. See what version of Direct X you are running. Currnet is 8.1a.
Try shutting off the 3D (Disable) and reboot. This may force your graphics card to render Direct Draw without the 3D. You probably wouldn't even notice the difference.
Just a note, make sure that the refresh rate on the monitor is not set to a higher setting than your card supports. That is in your display settings.
Hope this helps.

The game is good.

Could be the actual cd disc. Maybe just a bad print.:)
