First edition DIABLO wont run with ME.......

No matter how many times I install/uninstall, the old version of Diablo doesnt want to run. Most of the time it freezes during setup. I have 6 other games that installed wonderfully, but Diabo is a NO GO. Could this be my first Windows ME encounter?
System as follows
Athlon 800@918mhz
256MB RAM
12X DVD-ROM
Epox 8KTA-3
20gig 7200
Savage 4 16MB video card.

Could be. I had a few small programs not run with ME but most of my games just ran slow with ME.
Have you installed any of the patches that Blizzard has on their web site (used to anyway, I haven't been there for a while).
Have you checked the agp aperture setting in bios? I used to have a problem with one particular game if it was set to 16Mb (my tnt1 card was 16Mb) when it was set higher it would then run.

Could it be that Diablo is just too old of a game? I couldn't get Diablo I to run on Win2k neither http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

T-Bird, I've got Diablo 1st Edition and I run WinMe w/only 32mb ram(soon to be upgraded!)and 566mhz and works really good with no problems. Sorry I can't help you out-I just wanted let you know that it seems to be fairly compatible with my WinMe.
