open gl is supported on the video cards. i.e 3dfx cards were built to use glide. most cards coming out now use open gl for heavy intense realstic graphics. what type of card you have? since your getting the error sounds like your configuartion is set wrong and your card does not support open gl. go into your video settings in the game and change it to use a different driver. maybe software rendering. which is not the best but it all depends on what type of card you have.
