I just recently got an old computer from some friends and I installed Half-Life (the game we all love) on to it. But I go into video configurations, I am not able to select my Graphics card so the game uses it. Im sure that the card is installed, but Half-Life isn't even recognizing it. One of the suspected problems is that I only have 16 MB of RAM in this computer, but I can still play the game without the use of my card. Whats going on? Do I need to install newer verisions of drivers? Or Open GL files?

whoa let me see if im reading this right! your using only 16 mb of RAM to play half life?! how the heck is that possible??
what speed is your computer?

also you said that i am not able to select the graphics cards so the game uses it. do you mean your in the video configuartion and you tried to choose a driver but all you can use is software rendering??? do you know what type of card it is? since your saying its an old computer you might want to get a new computer to play games like half life.

oh yeah you can only use open gl if your card supports it. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/Forum8/HTML/001551.html

Yeah, but I'm going to buy some more RAM. It's a 200mhz. Sorry I wasn't more specific, I have no options in video configuration other than to change the screen size. And my Card is a voodoo 3 2000
