Quake 3 Arena won't start

Hi
When it is just about to start i get a little notice that says 'User Interface is 4, expected 3'
Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Sounds like yer tryin to play on the net? Is this the case? I know when I try to join a game and he hasn't got the latest patches for it, I get the same message.

This is before the game even starts!!
I'm sure it's the patches..I'm gonna have to download it again
