Let's see...there's: No One Lives Forever, Command and Conquer: Counterstrike, Quake 3, Laser Arena, Gunman Chronicles and Project I'm Going In. That's all I can think of off the top of my head http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Why wouldn't C&C be like UT? Ya go around grabbing weapons and shooting people to complete an objective. The only difference I see is that once you die, you're out of the round and you don't respawn until the next mission...which is why I don't particularly like it http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

LOL
sorry
I think he means Halflife - Counterstrike.
C&C: Counterstrike was an expansion for C&C: Red Alert that was one of the worst expansions ever made....
In Command and Conquer games, you build a base, command an army and destroy the other persons base usually with massive amounts of tanks.
Thats a Real Time strategy, and nothing like a First Person Shooter, which is what Unreal Tourney is.

If you liked the single player of UT and want more of that, try Quake 3 Arena and Quake 3 Team Arena.

If you like it multiplayer, I highly suggest getting Halflife and download the updates and Mods. That gives you Halflife, Counterstrike (the most played game on the internet), Team Fortress Classic, and Firearms, which are all considered quality games. The halflife single player is excellent, but its nothing like Unreal Tournament's single player (its mission based, not tournament based).

I still like HalfLife and it's many mods over most newer games.

The one new shooter I've been liking a lot is Star Trek Voyager:Elite Force. It's built with the Q3 engine, but replaces the boring old guns and rocket launchers with Trek style weaponry. It also uses charactors and species that trekkies have known for years.

I think you got that backwards Aura. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

If you like multi-player, then there's UT, Q3 (and HL of course). But UT & Q3 are built for multiplayer, their single-player mode is really just a simulation of the multi-player enviorment.

But if you prefer single-player missions, then without question Half-Life is THE way to go. It's the best single-player fps I've ever played. (& I've played them all starting with Wolfenstein.)

Hahaha, duhhh http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif Got 'em mixed up I did all right http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif The gamers usually just call it "Counter Strike" and C&C is the only thing I've seen in front of it so I assumed they were the same! Whoops http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif I've played Red Alert 2...I still prefer Starcraft! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
