Or is that a real CD? Pretty funny either way. By the way, I heard that M$ is being split in 2? Yes? jadison 05-29-2000, 08:57 PM yeah, they sure are, 1 Branch will handle the actual Windows operating system, while the other will handle the software, ie. Internet Explorer, Office 2000, etc. I was going to invest stocks in the company, but based on what I here about there stocks falling, I don't think that would be a wise decision! -jd- hd581 05-29-2000, 09:05 PM Actually jadison, it's possible that an investment now could be a good idea(especially since it's been doing poorly since mid March) (http://www.quicken.com/investments/charts/?symbol=MSFT). I think when AT&T broke up the shareholders won out eventually. Of course I'm far from an authority on this. Might want to ask an economist or something. psyklone 05-30-2000, 10:06 AM i'm no stock analyst by any means, but you've got to realize that M$ stock will always be a money maker. imho, the price drop is affording a chance that may not come around again in a long time. jadison 05-30-2000, 10:29 AM So You're saying buy when their stock prices reach just the right amount, just before they rise again? Excuse me for my little knowledge on the basis of stocks...I will be earning a great deal of money in the next couple of months, and I've been trying to teach myself about stocks as best I can: reading info. about stocks in certain websites, etc. I'd really like to invest now, it's never too late, but I need to know a lot more about it 1st. Esp. for college, I would like to attend MIT, my mind can do it, but my budget can't!! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif So I figure stocks would be a good investment for that (duh!) Well, anyway, everyone have a good day! -=jd=- jad1097 05-30-2000, 11:17 AM For long term investments (5 years or more)invest in Mutual Funds. FInd some that are at least 5 years old to show its stability and track record. Find a broker who is willing to teach you how it works and why to invest what and where(could take a while). And yes it seems to be a good time to invest in MS prices are down because people are scared. Plus when they do split up MS I would think that your stock would also be split which could be a big benefit in the long run. SysOpt.com
