Icq99a build 1800 was working great until
Yesterday where I had to reinstall windows 95.

From then on I can't start Icq. I keep getting the following error. I've unistalled it and reinstalled numerous times but nothing...

Any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated. Thank you

you may have lost a critical *.inf file or something similar in the reload....you may have to re-download it from icq's main site...

Yes, I did that. I DLed the newest one they have Build #1800 and I uninstalled the one I had. Then I installed the new one but that didn't help. Same error pops up.

Could the reinstallation of win95 messed it up somehow? But I mean I reinstalled a fresh new copy of Icq99a so I don't get it.

I hope you weren't using IE4.0/4.01 before reinstalling Win95. Read on if you were.

From Nathan's:

I really don't know if this has anything to do with ICQ, but I have seen stranger things.

Wow, that is quite weird... Come to think of I never did uninstall IE4 when I upgraded to IE5

But I can't see how that would affect ICq. I think some DLL's somehow might of been overwritten or the registry somehow messeup.

Because Icq just simply crashes and that's it. It won't go any further than that.

I'm almost 100% sure Windows did something to Icq because before the re-installation of Win95 Icq worked just fine
