I was looking forward to this game http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif

About the only thing that is good, is the graphics.

Yeah, it's just like Aliens vs Predator, where you can't save mid-mission, that really pisses people off, especially reviewers.

Wow i found a game that i disagree with Warthog on. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

I must admit it has it's faults but lets be honest, even the great RS has it's faults.(Can't think of any at the moment though http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif)

As for the review on IGN i think maybe the reviewer was having one of those nights.

Bugs? Ok the automatic weapons are a joke when it comes to accurracy (even trying burst firing) but as most of the action is close quarters it's no big thing and so what if you can't save during a mission. It does give you extra lives for each mission and depending on the difficulty you have upto 5 lives so where's the problem? If a save option was included i'd have finished this game in 1 night.
As for the issue of doing a Rambo on some missions thats true you can complete them by going psycho and shooting everything but thats what makes the game good IMO as you can also complete the same mission with minimum casualty's and your rewarded with extra cash and more weapon options for the next mission.

As for the control method and camera angles well yes they could have been better but they're not so bad once you've played though a couple of missions.

Well that's just my opinion anyway.

Off to finish the last level and start on Alice next. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Well...not yet http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif. Keep in mind, I haven't played it. Basing my opinion on the review. Is there a demo?

Got Hitman today, here’s my opinion for what it is worth.

Graphics & other eye-candy: Very nice, animation is good apart from going up & down stairs (no big deal). Some nice touches include smoking gun barrels & lots of reflective surfaces.

Sound: Ok but no A3d support. Generally clean & crisp but nothing special (not tried EAX).

Story: Interesting & quite involving (live those LEON moments). Definitely not a rival to “Deus Ex”. Overall very linear but still involving.

Playability: Instant pick up & play material. However the linear story could limit the replay value, just have to practice those perfect hits. Can also try the stealth approach or full on automatic weapon action.

The "save game system": Initially I hated it but on games like Hitman & AvsP with relatively small levels I found it added genuine tension. I guess there will be a patch out at some point, like all the rest, to provide mid-level saves.

Camera system: I hated the camera in the Tomb Raider games with all that swinging around, however had no troubles in Hitman.

AI: Not bad with no major glitches, however guards could be a bit more alert and use cover more.

Overall I am really enjoying the game (not finished yet), it provides a cool environment with nice presentation but lacks real depth for the hardcore gamer.

Play & enjoy.

Warthog - Yeah there was a demo out for it but i heard it was pretty poor so i didn't bother with it and waited for the full release.

SpookyEddy - I completely agree. This is no classic by any means but it's far better than the reviews i've read.

Now Alice on the other hand.....Well thats another thread altogether. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

this game is not soo bad. you'll have lots of fun killing in this game. the only problem i have with it is some of the missing controls, such as running backwards, doin 180 turns and jumping. then again, this isn't quake =) game resembles tomb raider engine and camera angles (<-not a fan of tomb raider).

I love the game, but it keeps crashing, so often that it's becoming unplayably frustrating, it's so bad now that it seldom even reaches the game engine before performing some manner of illegal operation, so I've decided not to play it untill Eidos get a patch ready

I just finished it and I must say the ending was a bit wierd/annoying/disappointing.

I found the last two missions incredibly tough.

Still a decent game though although the replay value is zero unless they bring out some sort of multiplayer addon.

I only had it crash once but that was when i forgot to put ICQ on DND and received a message. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/redface.gif

EDIT - Spec :
Duron 700
Geforce 2 MX (also Voodoo 3 3000 before upgrade)
