Is this card any good? It's inexpensive to say the least and I have a voodoo 3 2k right now. I looked around and can't find much on this product in the way of benchmarks. If you can point me in the right direction, (for benchmarks) that would be cool too.
So, should I go for it or are there better options in the 150 dollar arena?
I also know this card differs a little from other mx cards. Is this a big deal? Appreciate any input http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Back in September I got the GeforceMX card cause it was only $110. It was the best bang for the buck. GeforceGTS cards were about $250 and more back then. But now you can pick up GTS cards for $160, so I'll say go for that. But you won't be dissapointed with the MX if you do decide to get that. Just don't pay over $100 for it.

I have one of the creative cards ($104 from Bestbuy after 20% off coupon) and while it works fine and was much better than my old Voodoo 3 3000, I have to admit that my A-Open Geforce 2 MX with SDR ram is faster. The Creative's DDR ram is only clocked at 143 MHz with a 64 bit memory bus, so it is a little slower than the SDR cards which use a 128 bit bus and are usually clocked at 166 MHz. If you want the best geforce 2 MX card, try to find a good deal on a Guillemot/Hercules Prophet MX. They come with the fastest ram and are clocked at 183 MHz from the factory. And are only about $20 more than the retail Creative card. (That is what I should have done http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif )

Thanks, I'll probably go with sdram MX card instead of the creative.
