Vortex 2 = NO SOUND ON BOOT UP!!!!

Hello. I have a SQ 2500 Vortex 2 sound card with newest drivers. I get this error message on bootup>
Vortex Dos Driver (2.007)
Error#9: Audio hardware not present or incorrect audio version. Driver not loaded.
I used to reboot a couple of times then i would have sound, but that does not work anymore. I tried changing the card's pci slot but nothing has helped. I still get no sound and the vortex 2 is not in the control panel. Please help. Is my card busted. malachi

Did you check in Device Mgr. Uninstall all references to the card, restart then shutdown
Unplug the machine and reinstall the card. I'd try the slot it was originally in, that had worked before. Start it up , it should find the card and ask for the drivers. Do you have the original mfgr"s CD??? Or are the drivers in your downloaded programs folder??
Either way just point to where they are and I imagine this should work. You may have reassign the IRQ or the resources # to get it to work. I had similiar problems with a modem. Best of Luck!! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
