Q. Password for Drivers

I downloaded the new drivers for my video card. They want a password inorder to install them. What is up with that. I have a Diamond StealthIII S540 PCI and am having problems with the drivers that came with the Freaking card. They lock my system up I have tired everything. Now I have new drivers and can't install them. What is everyones opinion on the matter of passwords of drivers anyways? I for one think it sucks can't even use the **** thing right now. I am stuck with my old 4meg Trident.
