Balders Gate 2

I broke down. Went out and purchased this game. After the 2.5 (whatever) full install, I said to myself. This better be a **** good game!
Hmm, I guess it was worth it. I LAN'd with 2 friends of mine and we played for a few hours. Keeping my interest. I was expecting Diablo syndrome to pop up. Great looking game on the cover that sucks after you install it. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
You can boost the graphics to 2048 if you have the system power to do so. My monitor only supports 1280x960 so thats what I play it at. Crisp, crisp! graphics with great 3D effects for spells.
If your not familiar with Balders Gate, then read the 250 page ring notebook they send with the game. (Don't get scared. most of the book is spell descriptions)
It gets a little annoying with all the text along the way as well, but don't get me wrong. I enjoyed the game.
I'm looking forward to playing some more later on in the week.

Breakdown of what that means.
The game was advertised and talked about, as if it would be the greatest game to hit the shelves in our lifetime. The graphics were going to blow you away, the gameplay was going to be out of this world. The storyline will keep yo coming back for more!

Graphics = Great 2 years ago. Time to take a step into the future and offer something in a resolution higher than 640x480. Even playstation and sega systems give you better details.
Gameplay = Hack and slash. No stategy needed. After you finished the game once, its the same thing over and over and over and over..... you get the point.
Storyline = I liked the storyline. It flowed from the first game right into this one.

Conclusion = Diablo 2 would have made a great addon to DIablo about 2 years ago.

The graphics in Diablo2 are quite good, animations are pretty nice, I bet everyone would love the graphics if you could play in a high res. and there is strategy in Diablo2, how you use spells, what weapons to use in certain situations, the best ways to dispose of monsters, what abilities to improve on and when to use them etc.

And as for the game being the same every time you play it, you are dead wrong. There are four chracter classes, plus there are almost infinite ways to build up your character classes with all the different abilities, so it is different every time.

It may look the same as Diablo just taking a quick look at it, but anyone who has played it properly, will agree with me, it is a game with a fair bit of depth.
