Vortex 2 = NO SOUND ON BOOT UP!!!!

Hello. I have a SQ 2500 Vortex 2 sound card with newest drivers. I get this error message on bootup>
Vortex Dos Driver (2.007)
Error#9: Audio hardware not present or incorrect audio version. Driver not loaded.
I used to reboot a couple of times then i would have sound, but that does not work anymore. I tried changing the card's pci slot but nothing has helped. I still get no sound and the vortex 2 is not in the control panel. Please help. Is my card busted. malachi

I see two problems here.

1) you are posting in the wrong forum. should go in technical.

2) you have posted in 5 different forums. double posting is not permitted. I am sure the power that be will handle this.
