I bought a SB Live 256 Value Pak, not knowing there was not a manual to the OEM version. Does anyone know where I can find one? It is a great card but I don't know how to use the extras in it.

http://www.soundblaster.com/ would be a good place to start....

What sort of questions did you have about it?

I looked at SBs page but did not find how to get the actual manuals that come with the card. What I am looking for is how to use the features as well what they do. Sound Graph, Enviromental Audio, Sound Font, etc. Thanks for the response.

most of anything you'll need will either be on the website (FAQ, download, etc) or the CD that comes with it. i have the sb live value and i didn't spend more than 5 minutes in the manual. the CD has some semi-interactive demo's that are cool.

honestly a lot of the software is 'fluff' - sound graph doesn't really do anything at all. maybe someone has the cd and a burner and can get you a copy for the demos.

EA is the only somewhat neat thing. The rest will bog your computer down quicker then you can imagine--it is just fluff. There should be some items regarding these items in a help file somewhere. That is my guess at least.

hmmm...it's not that hard to figure out at all. Mine came on my new comp w/o a manual. I just fooled around and quickly figured out how to adjust speaker #, EA, etc.

Have you tried to yet?

right on both accounts... EA is the best feature, and you really don't need the manual per se, but i know what he means - when i get a new game or product i like to read every damned thing on it so i can make full use of it all. it's just nice to have, but you can live w/o it in this case IMO. i don't even run the creative launcher toolbar except when i'm switching speaker modes.... headphones when the wife is awake, 2 speakers when she's sleeping (but not too loud), and 4 speakers when i'm home alone. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Thanks for the info, I too, read everything there is to know about the card. The CD that came with it has the installation manual with lots of illustrations. Not much else. I figured out the balonacing and the speaker setup, but don't have much time for the HElp files. Guess I will have to apply more time in the future.
